Daniel Irvin is the Managing Partner of Capital Security Advisors, an investment advisor that manages the Infrastructure Opportunity Fund, which invests in debt and equity to finance essential infrastructure projects and public services.

Prior to founding CSA, from 2007 to 2011, Mr. Irvin was the CEO of Free Flow Power, the most active developer of new hydropower projects in the US.

Mr. Irvin was an investment banker in public finance from 1981 to 2007 and was responsible for raising over $50 billion of financing for municipal market borrowers throughout the US including states, municipalities, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and their independent agencies. His experience includes structuring and managing public offerings of a wide range of credit structures, including:

  • State and Municipal General Obligation Bonds
  • Appropriation-Backed Bonds
  • Bonds Backed by Sales Taxes, Gas Taxes and other Special Revenue Pledges
  • Airport Revenue Bonds
  • Toll Revenue Bonds
  • Higher Education and Healthcare Financings
  • Transit System Revenue Bonds
  • Water and Wastewater System Revenue Bonds
  • Pooled Credits of Municipal Debt
  • Housing Finance Agency Bonds

Mr. Irvin was a Managing Director of UBS after that firm acquired Paine Webber in 2000. At UBS he was responsible for public finance operations in Puerto Rico and the Northeastern US and for Public Power issuers nationwide. He also managed UBS’s municipal bond sales, trading, underwriting departments and was a member of the Fixed Income Executive Committee and the Board of the UBS Investment Bank.

Mr. Irvin has an AB in Economics from Princeton University.
